The FEHRL Collaborative Research Project Forever Open Road article in World Highways (May 2019)

 

The FEHRL Collaborative Research Project Forever Open Road is featured in an article in the May 2019 issue of World Highways magazine.

In the article Corridor for prosperity: the 5G Road, FEHRL Deputy Secretary-General, Adewole Adesiyun highlights the Forever Open Road studies stating: “there will likely be three iterations of a fifth generation road: the adaptable road, the automated road and the resilient road”. Speaking at the European Road Conference, in Dubrovnik (Croatia), on 22-24 October 2018, Dr Adesiyun also mentioned: “the fifth-generation road is about to provide the world’s highway authorities with a big leap forward.” (…) “Change will come, because the world’s road authorities are coping with critical but ageing assets that require a significant rise in the maintenance spent” (…) “the highway sector needs to bring back a positive attitude towards transport infrastructure and the secrets of success are sustainable innovation and implementation” (…).
