Description
Short technical description: This MRI facility is dedicated in an exclusive way to research in civil engineering. It measures in a non invasive way different information in a sample: - velocity field in a flowing fluid - fluid repartition in a porous system - physico-chemical information about fluid state in a porous sample (diffusion coefficient, phase transition, interaction with the surface, NMR spectra ...) Main subjects of research at the moment concern rheology of complex fluids (cement, clays, ...), transport in porous systems, and water state in cement during hardening and ageing. The MRI team develops MRI and NMR methodology for these purposes. Technical characteristics : - spectrometer: proton MRI Bruker DBX 24/80 - magnet: vertical Oxford, 0.5T, 20MHz (proton) - RF probe: birdcage, 20cm diameter, 110us pi/2 - gradients: 5G/cm, 500us raising time Construction date: 1999 Last upgrade: 0
