— Researcher exchange
FEHRL Mobility Programme
FEHRL is pleased to launch the FEHRL Mobility Programme, a new initiative designed to strengthen collaboration across our network by making it easier for researchers to spend time at fellow member institutes. Through short and medium term exchanges, participants can share expertise, access complementary facilities and work alongside colleagues on joint research topics.

How it works
01
Apply or offer
Member organisations apply to send visiting researchers, offer to host, or both, using the online form.
02
Matchmaking
The FEHRL Secretariat reviews the responses and identifies organisations with shared topics and compatible needs.
03
Follow up discussions
Interested organisations are put in contact to agree on topics, timing, duration and expected outputs.
04
Exchange
Visits can range from a few days to several weeks, depending on the needs of both organisations.
Topics
Exchanges can cover any area of road research. Some hot topics already identified by members include:
Road inspection data analysis Artificial intelligence applications AI powered knowledge bases On premise AI systems
Other topics are very welcome.
For visiting researchers
Apply as a visiting researcher
Would you like to spend time at another FEHRL institute? Member organisations can put forward one or more staff members who wish to take part in an exchange. Tell us about the topics you would like to work on, the expertise or facilities you are looking for, and your preferred timing and duration.
Apply as a visitorFor host institutes
Offer to host as a member institute
Is your institute ready to welcome researchers from across the network? Let us know which topics, facilities and expertise you can offer, and when you could receive visitors.
Send your hosting offerThe form is open on an ongoing basis and takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The same form is used to apply as a visitor, to offer to host, or both. We recommend gathering the information internally before you start. Submitting the form does not commit your organisation: any exchange is agreed directly between the organisations involved.
Not a FEHRL member yet?
The FEHRL Mobility Programme is reserved for FEHRL member organisations. If your institute would like to join a network of more than [number] national road research laboratories across Europe and benefit from opportunities such as staff exchanges, please contact us to find out more about FEHRL membership.
